Right sleeve: the standard black or white tournament badge. The light or dark version depends on the kit.
Left sleeve: the rotating round patch, starting with Unite for Peace in the group stage, then Football Unites the World and Unite for Education through the knockouts.
Samurai Blue is Japan's identity on the world stage — a deep blue that has become one of the most distinctive looks in Asian football. Having never won the World Cup, Japan are not entitled to the gold right-sleeve badge that only former champions wear. Their right sleeve instead carries the standard black or white version of the 2026 "26" tournament emblem, with the dark badge providing strong contrast against the blue home shirt and the lighter alternative used where kit tones require it. Japan are drawn into Group F for the 2026 tournament.
On the left sleeve, a rotating round patch marks each stage of their run. It starts with "Unite for Peace" through the group phase and switches to new round-specific designs as Samurai Blue push into the knockout stages. The table below shows exactly which patch corresponds to each round.
